The Ceriatone 5F6-A amplifier is based on the tweed-covered amplifier of the same designation. This amplifier was made in the ‘50s, and was available as a 4x10” combo. This is, in our opinion, perhaps the most important amplifier ever produced, as it served as the foundation of a specific British company that forever changed the sound of music with the JTM45 amplifier.
The use of the quad of 10” speakers lent a signature flavor to the sound, and we recommend pairing it with one for authentic 5F6-A tones. Speaker configurations aside, you’ll find this amplifier is very similar to the JTM45, and can be made even more so by substituting a 12AX7 for V1.
